Intro to Pole (BEGINNER)

This class is taught by:

Polina Fridman

Polina, a native Latvian, grew up in Germany and came to the US in 2010. Besides her full time career in graphic design, she has a big passion for challenging sports. In 2013 Polina discovered her passion for pole fitness when she joined Vertical Addiction.

The physical challenges of pole, the fun and unique movement, inversions as well as the erotic part of the dance got her addicted to the art form. Her background in Capoeira and her dedicated training helped her progress quickly and today she is very happy and proud to be part of the VA instructors team.

Polina is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and diverse background with the students at the VA studio. Come and check out her new class 'floor fusion' where she combines sexy floor dance moves with strength and flexibility based moves of Capoeira into a flowing and challenging choreography. Polina believes that there is a gorgeous, loving and passionate goddess in each one of us and that it is up to us to make her light shine into this world; pole is one of the best practices to bring this inner goddess onto the surface and share our happiness with everyone around.

Aileen Creagh

This mother of 5 took a pole class at Vertical Addiction almost 2 years ago and thought nothing of it other than it would be something fun and silly to try. Little did she know she was about to be hooked! Since that first class Aileen has become a committed pole athlete and even started competing, scooping up 2 gold medals in level 1. She is now a certified ElevatED pole fitness instructor and teaches for VA!

Marta Muryn

In a search for a fun way to workout Marta stumbled upon pole fitness. She discovered it is a great way to get a total body workout incorporating dancing and movement. “After each class I would come home and kept dancing!” …what a great feeling. Marta attended an open house at Vertical Addiction and was so pleased with the experience and atmosphere she knew she was coming back! After months of non-stop classes she decided to take things to the next level and enroll in VA’s first teacher training. Marta is excited to share her passion and experience with students and show them how pole and aerial can change their lives, mind and spirit!

Marla Schneider

Marla, a former New York City elementary school teacher and mother of 4, including a set of triplets took her first pole class in December 2014. It was not love at first sight, but it didn’t take long before she fell in love and needed her regular “pole therapy.”

Once she began to see her body transform, it became an addiction and she was hooked. She was thrilled to get her teacher certification at VA and get back to her original passion of teaching, but with a bit of a twist.

Marla is living proof it is never too late to find a new passion that challenges the body, mind and spirit. She absolutely loves that the pole community has been so welcoming and non-judgmental. It’s like having a second family and there is no better place than VA to feel the love.

Never taken pole fitness before; this class is for you! You will learn the fundamentals of pole fitness including different hand grips, walks, beginner spins, and the basics of how your body moves around the pole.

Typically takes 3-6 classes before you are ready for level 1.
